Joseph Duke Memorial Bursary

In 2026, ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø will offer one Joseph Duke Memorial Bursary to support a student continuing their studies in a bachelor's degree with a music major.

This bursary is dedicated to the short life of a very talented young musician, Joseph Duke, and is awarded to a student undertaking a major in music.

The bursary will have a maximum value of $6000 to be paid in two instalments.

Applicants must:

  • be a currently residing in Australia
  • be their studies full-time at ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø in a bachelor's degree with a music major in Trimester 1 2026
  • have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.0 as at the release of results for Trimester 3 2025.

Applicants must:

  • address each personal statement question below (250 words maximum per question):        
    • how have your academic experiences shaped your approach to learning, and how will you apply this to your remaining studies? Examples are encouraged.
    • describe your career goals within your chosen field, and the impact that you hope to make as a professional
    • how has your development as an individual been influenced by your community involvement (e.g., community service at school or volunteer role in sporting/cultural group, leadership roles or through other extracurricular activities)
  • provide evidence to support claims made within your personal statement regarding community involvement (e.g., community or school newsletter articles, certificates).

*Applicants will also be assessed on academic achievement.

 

**Extra consideration will be given to students who can provide evidence to show they have a permanent address in, or have relocated to study from a small rural or remote area (MM5 - MM7) within Australia according to the .

 

Please Note: If an applicant holds other ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
