Three Minute Thesis (3MT®)

3MT® is an academic research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia.

Building on the success of our inaugural 2024 competition, ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø is proud to once again participate in the  in 2025. This exciting opportunity invites doctoral students (who have completed their confirmation of candidature) to showcase their research in a compelling three minute presentation. Finalists have the chance to gain national and international recognition, prize money, and new audiences for their research. 

About the Competition:

The Three Minute Thesis competition celebrates innovating research conducted by doctoral students. It helps develop their ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to a non-specialist audience. All ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø 3MT® participants benefit from training and experience in research communication and presentation.

Prizes:

1st Prize: $1000* and the opportunity to represent ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø in the 2025 Virtual Asia-Pacific 3MT® Competition

2nd Prize: $500* 
 
People's Choice: $250*

*All prizes are to be used for related activities.  

 

Judging:

First and second place are selected by our judging panel.
 
The People’s Choice Award is determined by votes from the ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø community, giving everyone a chance to support their favourite presentation.
