Three Minute Thesis (3MT®)
ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø is proud to once again participate in the in 2026. This exciting opportunity invites doctoral students (who have completed their confirmation of candidature) to showcase their research in a compelling three minute presentation. Finalists have the chance to gain national and international recognition, prize money, and new audiences for their research.
About the Competition:
The Three Minute Thesis competition celebrates innovating research conducted by doctoral students. It helps develop their ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to a non-specialist audience. All ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø 3MT® participants benefit from training and experience in research communication and presentation.
Prizes:
1st Prize: $1000* and the opportunity to represent ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø in the 2026 Virtual Asia-Pacific 3MT® Competition
2nd Prize: $500*
People's Choice: $250*

- Applications now Open: 3MT registrations are now open, with the closing date extended until 9:00am, Monday 8 June. Please register at Please note you will need to attach your supervisors endorsement to submit your form. Please ensure that you are logged in to your ÌÔÆ¬×ÊÔ´Íø Microsoft account to access the form.
- 8 June 2026: Applications close 9:00am.
- 10 June 2026: 1:00pm – 2:00pm
- Mandatory Training Session One.
- 17 June 2026: 1:00pm – 2:00pm
- Mandatory Training Session Two.
- 6 July 2026 through to 24 July 2026
- Individual Feedback Sessions
- 14 August 2026:
